An Introduction To Self Hypnosis For Health
A Look At Self Hypnosis.
Hypnosis is basically a natural state within the unconscious mind.
When we are hypnotized the hypnotist will tap into our subconscious mind allowing them to place subliminal messages into the unconscious section of our minds.
Self hypnosis is the same concept only you are placing your self into a hypnotized state.
By using self hypnosis you are using your mind during a restful state so that you can change habits, behavior and personality traits for you to reach your goals.
The way our minds works is that it takes your personal experiences and shapes them into who you are.
This provides for bad habits that seem impossible to break.
When you use positive messages inside your mind while in a hypnotized state you can change the impressions that are in your mind, thus allowing for you to successfully make positive changes in your life.
Self hypnosis can save you a lot of time and money over hiring a hypnotist to hypnotize you.
By using what you already have available to you, you can hypnotize yourself for free.
There are various ways this can be done.
What you use and how you hypnotize yourself is dependent on what you are wanting to achieve.
You probably have seen or even heard people who use those self-help audio tapes that they play while they are sleeping.
This is actually a form of self-hypnosis in the fact that the person is in a state of rest and using positive influence to make a mental change.
Self hypnosis can also be used to help you lose weight.
By becoming deeply relaxed and using your own voice inside your head, you can positively impact your own mind to help you lose weight.
Also using mental images of a slimmer you while in this deep state of rest can help you achieve your goals.
Stress is a big factor in many people’s lives and self hypnosis can help to reduce or completely get rid of unhealthy stress.
After all stress can lead to many health problems such as stroke, heart disease, high blood pressure and even a heart attack just to name a few of the bad health problems associated with stress.
Another bad problem with stress is that it makes us cranky and less desirable to be around, possibly leading to depression.
With self hypnosis you can get rid of all these unpleasant things in your life and you can positively influence your mood and stress level by imprinting upon the mind that everything in life is alright and also by reaching that deeply relaxed state, your stress will diminish.
These are just a few of the things that you can banish from your life with the help of self hypnosis.
Almost everything in your life can be changed or improved upon with self hypnosis.
Self hypnosis though is not for all people.
Some people may find it hard to reach that level of relaxation that they will need to hypnotize themselves.
This will stop many people from trying self hypnosis.
With time and dedication though everyone can learn to successfully hypnotize themselves and make a positive influence on their own will power and mind set.

Myths About Self Hypnosis.
Self hypnosis is looked upon in the same way by many as being hypnotized by someone else.
There are many myths that surround hypnosis and even self hypnosis. Myths are just that though, myths.
Myths are untrue and have no basis other than to scare you.
Myths surrounding hypnosis and even self hypnosis have no sound basis, they came about mostly because of uninformed people having an opinion on something they had no knowledge of.
Myth #1– I will be made to do silly and stupid things.
No you will not be made to do anything silly or stupid.
Your subconscious mind will not allow for you to do anything that is out of character for you.
Also with self hypnosis you are hypnotizing yourself, so why would you be at risk of doing anything silly or stupid?
After all would you try and hypnotize yourself to bark like a dog every time you heard a door bell? I really don’t think so.
Myth #2-Forever being stuck in a hypnotized state of mind.
This is not going to happen either.
Your mind will not allow for you to go drifting off into Never-Never Land.
As much as a lot of us would like to escape that way, it just will not happen.
So you have nothing to fear about not coming back from your hypnotized state of mind.
Myth #3-Being out of control.
Your conscious mind is still there while you are hypnotized so therefor you have nothing to fear when it comes to losing control.
With self hypnosis you are fully in control of everything from start to finish.
Myth #4– Someone can come along and give me bad subliminal messages.
For starters you are in control of your hypnotic state of mind.
You can leave that state of mind anytime, therefore while you are self hypnotizing you can come out of that state anytime some one comes around you.
Secondly your subconscious mind will not allow you to go against your character and moral ethics.
So if someone is trying to get you to do something bad, subliminal messages are not going to make you do it against your own free will.
Myth #4– I can not be hypnotized.
This is completely wrong.
You can be hypnotized and can successfully hypnotize yourself if you choose to.
People who can not be hypnotized are just making the choice not to be hypnotized.
You have to choose to enter that state of mind no one can force you to.
So if you make a conscious choice not to be hypnotized then you will not be hypnotized.
This does not mean though that you can not be hypnotized.
Myth #5-Hypnosis is unsafe.
Actually hypnosis is safe as it deals with a very natural state of the human mind.
Hypnosis can be unsafe if done while doing something that requires you full attention though.
You should not try self hypnosis while walking across a busy street as this would prove to be unsafe.
Self hypnosis should also not be done when flying down the highway either.
But if done in the comfort of your home or other areas where you concentration is not going to be needed, then self hypnosis is very safe.
